FreqFlow 0.1.0

Three things that used to need a second application now happen inside the studio.

New

Split a song into parts

Feed in a song and get the vocals, drums and bass separately. Use them as a practice backing track, as a clean sample, or to rescue a project whose source file is lost.

The processing happens on your computer, and your files stay with you.

New

Hear yourself while you record

In the installed version, what you play returns to your headphones at low latency. For vocals, that is the difference between a take you keep and a take you throw away.

Every recording lands in its right place on the timeline.

New

Keep working with your plug-ins

VST3 and CLAP plug-ins load in the studio, and a plug-in that misbehaves no longer stops the software from opening.

In the desktop version.

The mixer

Every channel, with its own effects

EQ and effects on every channel, groups and sends, and automation on every control. The same mixer in the browser and in the installed version.

Also in this version

More improvements

Small details that make the work calmer.

Name your sections

Verse, chorus, bridge — move a whole section, or duplicate it to the end of the song.

Pick from every pass

Each recording pass is saved in its own lane, and you build one performance from them.

Read a project at a glance

Channels are coloured by type.

Search everything in one box

A single box finds a preset, a plug-in, a sound or a menu command.

See when the project is saved

A quiet indicator in the corner, and a list of versions you can return to.

Work on a small screen too

The window works at laptop width too.

Freeze a heavy channel to audio

Convert a heavy channel to audio and free up the processors. The action is reversible.

Import a hundred files in one drag

Dragging in a hundred files no longer freezes the software.

Run everything from the keyboard

Every action is in the command bar, so you can work without the mouse.

Fixed in this version

Recording could lose a few milliseconds at the start of a take on some audio interfaces.

Undo did not always cover a fade made with the mouse.

A keyboard connected after launch was not detected until a restart.

Very long projects scrolled unevenly.

The mixer forgot the channel colour after reopening the project.

What's next

Collaboration

Two people in one project, from two computers. In testing.

A Mac version

It does not exist today, and we would rather say so plainly than write 'coming soon'.

Recording from your phone

Capture an idea away from the desk and find it in the project when you are back.

There are no dates here, on purpose. It is better to ship late than to promise a month.

The update is free for everyone already in.

And if you are not in yet — the studio opens right in the browser.
